THORChain Network Resumes Block Production

The Big Picture

The first step of THORChain's path to full operations has been taken.

The THORNode code, which is responsible for running the THORChain blockchain itself, was audited and given the green light to be brought back online.

The Good News

With THORNodes back online, block production can resume, allowing network participants to continue to receive block rewards. Node operators and liquidity providers are also expected to receive back-pay for the rewards missed while the network was offline.

The following transaction types remain disabled:

  • Native RUNE transfers
  • Upgrade to native RUNE
  • Deposits
  • Withdrawals
  • Swaps

Going Forward

Trading and inbound/outbound transactions are still paused as additional audits are underway. Over the next 10-12 weeks, additional chains will be restarted as normal operations are slowly resumed.

The THORChain team expects mainnet to go live by the end of the year.
